Langston University's school of education and behavioral sciences graduate programs has partnered with CaseNEX to offer Oklahoma's only fully online M.Ed. in educational leadership program.

LU's M.Ed. in educational leadership was designed to target current educators looking to transition into school administration.  The program, which consists of 12-courses, features a case-study-based curriculum that can be accessed from any computer, as well as downloaded via Apple iPod or Microsoft Zune.

Tuition for the program is $750 per course, and a total of 36 completed credit hours are required for matriculation of the program.  In addition, all students must complete a written comprehensive exam.

Interested candidates can seek admission year-round, and will be required to go through the same application process as any of LU's other graduate programs.

According to Dr. Alex O. Lewis, director of graduate programs at Langston University- Oklahoma City, offering the M.Ed. in educational leadership program online is a great tool for educators looking to take their careers to the next level.

"I am extremely optimistic about the possibilities of this program, and foresee it as a wonderful tool in the arsenal of any educator looking to transition from the classroom to the boardroom," Lewis said. "This program, and its curriculum, is grounded in nearly 20- years of research, and I feel confident that every student who comes through this program will be equipped to thrive as an educational leader."

Recognizing the need of many non-traditional students to obtain graduate degrees online, Lewis and his staff developed this program to offer its participants a progressive, challenging, student-centered educational experience.  Students have access to course materials 24 hours a day, seven days a week, giving them the ability to read and re-read lectures, discussions, explanations, and advance in their studies in a flexible and convenient environment for working adults.

Enrollment in the program is currently open, with the next session's application deadline being March 19 for classes that start on April 21. Candidates interested in LU's M.Ed. in educational leadership must supply their own computers with internet access; financial aid is available for those who qualify.
