Chawntese Chandler took home the title of Kappa's Next Top Model last Friday in the multipurpose building. Shuntavia Turner was announced as the winner at first, but after a recount Chandler was found to have had more points.

Nine other contestants participated for the title that was hosted by the Alpha Phi chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi: Shannon Gibson, Tamika Kimbel, Delondra Ellis, Marzett Kirk, Angelica McBee, Sharya Torrant, Tempest West, Whitney Hunter and Kristin Gaddis.

The ladies showed out in order to impress the five judges: Candy Page, Mike Thompson, Cynthia Ajanwachukwu, Taron Mason, and Andre Henderson.

Whitney Traylor, Miss Krimson and Kreme 2007, and Dewone Bennett were the hosts for the evening.

Coordinator Nathaniel Hudson said the ladies had been working very hard for this event and it would be a tough competition.

Each contestant showed their personality, style, and charisma in the five phases of the competition: casual wear, sleep wear, swim wear, business wear and night club wear.

The contestants who were members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. showed off red business suits in the business phase of the competition.

In the sleep wear phase, the ladies were stunning, comfy and cute. Kirk modeled a black and purple sexy outfit with matching purple fish net stockings.

All the ladies looked beautiful in their swim wear. Ellis wore a one-piece multi-colored swimsuit with openings on the sides and a pair of matching pumps.

For the night wear phase, Hunter modeled a short, tight-fitting, golden dress and the crowd loved it.
