Forced move from dorms to apartments irritates students

By La Tara Sutton

Issue date: 10/4/06 Section: News
"Having to move out of Young to Centennial will be a hardship on my parents because my brother and I both attend Langston so the proper aid may not be available any longer," said Monique Cotton, a Young Hall resident from Ontario, Calif. and freshman sociology major.

"This move should have occurred in the beginning of the semester so no extra charges will be given to us now," said LaReina Herron, a Young Hall resident from Tulsa, Okla., and a sophomore nursing major.

Other students are annoyed because they feel they are being inconvenienced.

"We're moving right before mid-terms and this doesn't give me enough time to study," said Andrea Campbell, a Young Hall resident from Chicago, Ill., and a sophomore computer science major.

Not all students are frustrated about the move, however. Some actually look forward to it,

"This move will help me benefit more in my classes and be more effective in class," said Traveno Carter, a Young Hall resident from Oklahoma City, Okla. and junior psychology major.

Students who will have a balance at the end of the semester because of the move will still be able to enroll in the spring.

Do you think making it so there are only two ways in and out of campus was a good idea?
